No truth in Tuchel to Arsenal reports
Rumours emanating from Germany suggested that the BVB boss could be ready to take over at the Emirates Stadium, but these have been rebuffed
Arsenal have denied reports that they have approached Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel to become the next manager of the club.
Tuchel has been linked as a replacement for under-fire manager Arsene Wenger in recent weeks, with German daily Bild claiming that contact had been made between the Gunners and Tuchel over him becoming the next manager at Emirates Stadium.
The BVB coach started his career in the dugout at Augsburg and Mainz with the youth and reserve sides, but he graduated at the latter to take charge of the first team. With nearly 200 games under his belt and a reputation for attractive football, he moved to Dortmund in the summer of 2015 with the task of replacing Jurgen Klopp.
Although Dortmund are third in the Bundesliga and are not guaranteed European football next season, they have progressed to the Champions League quarter-finals, where they will meet Monaco.
Despite his success in Germany, the Premier League club are firmly denying the rumours and remain adamant that a mutual decision between Wenger and the club will be made soon.
