Patty Jenkins Officially on Board to Direct 'Wonder Woman' Sequel
Patty Jenkins has closed a deal to direct the sequel to the wildly successful “Wonder Woman,” Variety reported Monday.
Variety had previously reported Jenkins was writing a script for the sequel with Geoff Johns and Jon Berg.
“Wonder Woman” made $813 million worldwide since it was released this summer and is the highest-grossing, live-action film directed by a woman.
Exact contract figures were not available, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, Jenkins will be the highest paid female director ever, probably making $7 to $9 million upfront as well as a cut of the film's revenue once it comes out.
Jenkins was paid $1 million for the first “Wonder Woman” movie, and its success left her in a much better negotiating position for the sequel, THR noted.
