Which ad will Warriors wear on their jerseys in record NBA deal?
They’ve signed the most lucrative ad patch deal in the league, securing a 3-year, $60 million contract with Rakuten, a Japanese tech company, ESPN first reported Tuesday.
In the first year the NBA will allow advertising on jerseys, the Warriors will wear Rakuten’s red and black patch near the left shoulder.
A white Rakuten patch will adorn both the Warriors’ blue and slate jerseys, according to ESPN’s Darren Rovell.
The Warriors’ deal reportedly doubles the previous NBA high of $10 million per season that Lebron James’ Cavaliers signed with Goodyear.
Warriors chief marketing officer Chip Bowers told ESPN that the deal was more about marketing the team globally than getting the most money in the deal.
