MANCHESTER, England -- Three thoughts on Manchester City's 2-1 win vs. Bristol City in the Carabao Cup semifinal first leg.

Guardiola's side, 15 points clear at the top of the Premier League and with 14 wins from 16 games on the road, will be overwhelming favourites but, if Bristol City can replicate the incredible performance that took care of Jose Mourinho's men, they could yet pull off their biggest upset.

The second half was more like what home fans are used to seeing as Guardiola's side pushed Bristol City back for long periods.

Man City's performances in the Carabao Cup this season have underlined Guardiola's belief that he is short of an attacker; three previous rounds had brought just three goals over five-and-a-half hours and included a goalless draw at home to Championship leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers.

That's despite already knocking out Premier League sides Watford, Stoke City, Crystal Palace and, most notably, Manchester United on their route to the semifinal.
