Kimmel: Trump ’s---hole’ comments ‘unfathomable’
ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel strongly criticized President Trump Donald John TrumpHouse Democrat slams Donald Trump Jr. for ‘serious case of amnesia’ after testimony Skier Lindsey Vonn: I don’t want to represent Trump at Olympics Poll: 4 in 10 Republicans think senior Trump advisers had improper dealings with Russia MORE on Thursday for Trump's reported comments attacking Haiti and African nations.
In a monologue on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" Thursday night, Kimmel said that remarks Trump reportedly made during an Oval Office meeting with lawmakers referring to Haiti and African nations as "shithole countries" were "unfathomable" coming from the president.
"Listen, I'm sure the fact that the countries he described as 'shitholes' are mostly populated by people of color and the immigrants he wants from Norway are not is a coincidence," Kimmel said, to laughs. "Because if it wasn't, it would mean we voted for a racist, like, a real one, and we'd have to get pitchforks and chase him out of the White House."
"But I'd also assume the White House would deny he said that," Kimmel said. "They did not. They just tried to spin it."
"It really is unfathomable," he continued. "You just can't believe that this is the guy running our country."
Trump did deny using the language in a pair of tweets Friday morning, hours after Kimmel's show aired and after an initial non-denial from White House spokesman Raj Shah.
